About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Children's Trainee Homes Manager to support the development of a brand new 2-bedded Ofsted-registered children's home for young people with Learning Difficulties. This role is ideal for an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner looking to progress into a Registered Manager position with full training and support.
You will work closely with senior leadership to gain the experience and confidence needed to eventually manage the home independently. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new service that provides a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for young people.
Key Responsibilities
Support in establishing and running the children's home in line with Ofsted regulations
Assist in leading, supervising, and guiding the staff team
Contribute to personalised care planning and high-quality support for young people with Learning Difficulties
Maintain strong safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with legislation and organisational policies
Support with staff recruitment, training, and ongoing development
Assist with quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement processes
Build strong working relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals
Requirements
Experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader in an Ofsted-registered children's home
Understanding of Learning Disabilities and experience supporting young people with additional needs
Willingness to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (if not already enrolled)
Knowledge of Ofsted inspections, Children's Home Regulations, and safeguarding procedures
Strong communication skills, leadership potential, and organisational abilities
Passion for progressing into a Registered Manager role and making a positive difference
