We are now seeking an
experienced and inspiring Musical Theatre Choreographer
to join our creative team.
The Role
The Musical Theatre Choreographer will be responsible for creating and teaching
dynamic, age-appropriate choreography
for productions featuring
younger casts and large ensembles
. You will work collaboratively with directors, musical directors and the wider Stage 8 team to bring each production to life through movement.
This role is ideal for someone who is
highly skilled in musical theatre choreography
, confident leading large groups, and passionate about working with children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
Create original musical theatre choreography for Stage 8 productions
Teach choreography clearly and confidently to
large ensembles
Adapt choreography for different age groups and abilities
Work collaboratively with directors and musical directors
Maintain a positive, inclusive and supportive rehearsal environment
Support performers in developing confidence, musicality and performance quality
Attend scheduled rehearsals, tech rehearsals and performances as agreed
Ensure choreography is safe, appropriate and achievable for young performers
Essential Criteria
Strong experience in
musical theatre choreography
Proven ability to work with
large ensembles
Experience choreographing for
children and young people
Creative, energetic and encouraging teaching style
Able to commit to:
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings
Occasional Sundays
(by prior agreement)
Reliable transport and ability to work in
Neath and Port Talbot
Enhanced
DBS check
(must be held or willing to obtain)
Eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria
Licensed
chaperone
with their local authority
or willing to undertake chaperone training
Experience working within a theatre school or youth performing arts setting
Strong communication and time-management skills
