Job title: CHP Field Engineer

Location: Regional based in the SE = although some travel, both in the UK and overseas, may be required.

Reporting to: Area Supervisor

Staff reporting directly: None

Due to the UK Governments Visa rules requiring a minimum salary for a sponsored role, we are not able to accept applicants who require Visa sponsorship as this role does not meet the criteria required.

This role is urgently required in the business - as such we are not accepting applications from individuals who are not already living in the UK due to the time involved in having to relocate to the UK

Basic salary of 39,740 + 4,128 South Weighting, on call payment of up to 2,000k pa. Overtime available at management discretion of up to 8 hours per week. Certification payments for GasSafe 1500pa, 18th Edition 1000pa and HV Switching 1000pa

.

We develop a diverse range of energy projects, including Landfill Gas Generation, Flare Systems, Embedded Gas Generation, BESS, Combined Heat & Power systems, Client-side Behind the Meter power generation, Solar/PV arrays and more, in the UK and overseas.



As part of our ambitious plans, we are expanding our workforce and have a number of vacancies available.

Main responsibilities:

Day to day operations and maintenance including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location and rectification. Planned maintenance and breakdown response for the generating assets with minimum outages. A commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge, and that of the technicians working with you. Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company. Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Area Supervisor is replenished and always available. A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement. Reducing the company's reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent. Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing. Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home when appropriate. Compliance with all legislation. Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.

Key tasks:

Utilisation and compliance of the company's operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems. Execution of all generator maintenance and the use of Operations staff to undertake minor maintenance on generators as required by the management. Maintenance and repair of all mechanical, PV, storage, heat and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities. Maintenance and inspection of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency. Operation of HV switchgear subject to training and competency. Commissioning of new build associated equipment. Incorporation of new sites into Operations. Repair and maintenance of generators. Training, support and supervision of Operations Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding. Provide 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary. Ordering and cost control of spares and control of stock. Represent the company in a professional manner with customer engagement and delivering clean, well-run sites at all times. Contractor supervision. Implementation of HSQE systems. Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skill inc regard to environmental protection and materials. Compliance and implementation of company environmental protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing, and updating company systems. Conduct air emissions monitoring. Compilation and completion of outstanding works raised by site audits. Ensure company vehicles in your care are clean, maintained to manufacturer's specification and in keeping with policy. Deal directly with environmental spillages using pollution prevention equipment and materials. Any reasonable task required by the management in the exercising of its goals.

Knowledge/ Experience

Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance. Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field. Experience with electric control systems 12v DC - 415v AC 30? Fault location, diagnosis and rectification Gassafe accreditation or ability to complete within probation Electrical qualification or ability to complete 18th edition within probation Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, HVAC systems is advantageous. Computer literate. Hold full UK drivers licence.
