:
As a Clean Water Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site delivery of clean water infrastructure works, with a focus on the installation of boundary boxes, new private customer connections, and reactive and planned repair and maintenance (R&M) activities. Working in field-based environments, you will ensure that installations and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to regulatory and company standards. You will play a key role in maintaining network integrity and supporting excellent customer service through high-quality installation practices and problem-solving in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Boundary Box Installations:
Carry out the installation of boundary boxes at correct positions in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
Ensure installations meet standards for accessibility, depth, and alignment with property boundaries and water mains.
Customer Connections:
Install new private service connections from the main network to individual properties, including pipe laying, tapping mains, and connecting supply pipes.
Conduct on-site checks to verify correct meter positioning and secure, leak-free connections.
Repair & Maintenance Works (R&M):
Perform planned and reactive R&M works on the clean water network, including leak repairs, service pipe replacements, stop tap repairs, and valve replacements.
Respond to customer-reported issues and resolve supply faults quickly and efficiently.
Site Safety & Compliance:
Operate in line with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, including use of appropriate PPE and safe excavation practices.
Complete risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) prior to work commencement.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with customers clearly and professionally before and during works, ensuring understanding of any service disruptions or property access requirements.
Record and report any customer issues or complaints encountered on site.
Operational Standards:
Use handheld devices to log job progress, update asset records, and ensure accurate job closure information is captured.
Ensure all work is completed to high technical standards and in line with water quality and regulatory requirements.
Teamwork & Coordination:
Work closely with planners, supervisors, and reinstatement teams to ensure smooth handoffs and efficient delivery of multi-stage works.
Requirements:
SHEA Water.
National Water Hygiene.
NRSWA (Street works) Current and in date.
Experience on clean water.
Manual handling, Abrasive Wheels & first aid desirable but we are willing to offer training for the correct candidates.
