Working in partnership with our WSP Communities & Mobility Business Unit and Local Authority clients across the South Wales region.

Delivering services into the UK public sector focussing on public sector transport planning and highways.

In this role you will:

  • Technical Design Lead and supporting the delivery of projects which help safeguard the future of the local transport network.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design supporting teams from across the UK and the globe in delivery of projects.
  • Guidance and mentoring of existing staff.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and can train other staff members on the use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D by means of individual coaching.
Your Team
  • We have a strong, supportive team which comprises of members of staff ranging from Associate to Apprentice. We work collaboratively with other WSP teams across disciplines and global locations.
  • Our team owns projects through their entire life cycle, from inception to construction. We have a varied workload from major highways improvements through to a diverse range of typical highway, traffic improvements and Active Travel works.
  • Our primary Clients are Local Authorities within the South Wales Area. We are passionate about supporting Local Authorities to deliver improvements for local communities, prioritising active and sustainable travel and supporting the local economy.
  • Our offices are in St. Mellons, Cardiff and Cardiff city centre.
We\'d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Educated to BSc/ BEng level in a Civil Engineering discipline, or demonstrable experience of delivering Civil/Highway Engineering Services. Candidates with a HNC/HND who have significant proven experience will also be considered.
  • A passion for working on projects that make a real difference to local communities.
  • A commitment to safety; believing that safety, health and wellbeing is the most important aspect of our work.
  • Experience and knowledge in the development of highway, traffic and civil engineering projects, especially those that promote sustainable and active travel modes.
  • Ideally Chartered or Incorporated Professional but applicants with experience working towards professional qualification will be considered.
  • A full and clean driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence is required.
  • Competent in the use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D (2D/3D).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising planners, designers, engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance to less experienced members of the team.
  • Able to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budget targets.
