Our Civil Engineers work across multi-discipline teams to deliver various projects across our land and forests including the construction of new, and maintenance of existing roads and bridges. This role carries significant autonomy and responsibility, taking projects from the planning and design stage through to completion. Our Civil Engineers play a key role in the commercial management of works and ensuring health and safety on sites across their region, this will require travel to other offices and regions including overnight stays.
The Civil Engineering team plans, designs and manages a network of forest roads and associated infrastructure, including bridges and extractives sites (Quarries). The forest road network we manage (9844km) supports land management activities, in particular the harvesting and marketing of timber from Scotland's national forests and land.
