We're looking for an enthusiastic Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Poole. Are you passionate about creating innovative, elegant and robust civil engineering solutions for complex construction projects?


Overview


As workload expands, Calcinotto is actually seeking more civil engineers to support senior engineering staff and take a leading role on specific tasks and projects. The successful candidate will manage the design process for various infrastructure projects (predominantly drainage) and private sector development schemes. Depending on seniority & experience your job role will be as follows:

Principal Civil Engineer




Leading the design and analysis of major civil engineering projects, providing expert consultation and technical leadership, and ensuring design and operational excellence in all civil engineering activities.

Senior Civil Engineer



Designing and supervising civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, and water systems, ensuring that projects meet environmental, safety, and structural standards, and coordinating with clients and other engineers for seamless project execution.

Civil Engineer




Assisting in the design and planning of civil projects, preparing reports, and conducting site inspections, while collaborating with the project team to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.


General Responsibilities & Daily Activities


Participate during the design process for a range of infrastructure and private sector development schemes. Produce Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Transportation Reports for submission to the Planning Authority to secure planning permission for clients' development sites. Assist in the production of Drainage/Highway designs and provide support for all types and scales of development projects. Assist in securing S278/S38 (Highways Act) and S104/S106 (Water Act) technical approvals. Produce drawings associated with work and manage CAD and technician resources to deliver outputs to agreed deadlines. Communicate with clients and design teams on active projects, manage and procure deliverables on time, and report to the project manager. Deliver projects within budget constraints.

Your skills and experience

Requirements



HND/C or a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent related qualification. Minimum of 3 years' experience post-graduation.

Technical Skills



Experience with Drainage and Highways Sectional Agreements. Proficiency in preparing highway designs and specifications. Detailed drainage and SuDs design using WINDES. Competent use of ACAD and Civil 3D. Familiarity with DMRB Manual for Streets, British Standards, and Sewers for Adoption. Experience in working as part of a design-build project is advantageous.

Key Skills



Experience in delegating and managing technician and CAD resources. (Principal) Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to compile and check reports and apply QA procedures. Competent in using Microsoft Office programs. Exceptional attention to detail and strong presentation skills. Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential.
