We're looking for a Civil Engineer to join our growing team at BakerHicks, delivering high-quality designs for power and energy infrastructure projects - including substations, grid connections, and renewable energy facilities - alongside exciting work in other sectors such as industrial, defence, and transportation.
What you'll be doing
Designing and specifying civil works for large-scale projects, including drainage, external works, earthworks, and utilities.
Producing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports that meet the highest technical standards.
Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
Reviewing calculations and subcontractor designs for compliance and quality.
Supporting and mentoring early-career engineers, while contributing to technical excellence and best practice.
What we're looking for
Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience delivering projects in one or more sectors - power sector experience desirable.
Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE).
Strong understanding of drainage design, earthworks, and external works.
Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD (or similar) for modelling, layouts, and draughting designs.
Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations, and BIM processes.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
