Your role:
You will join our multidisciplinary team of engineers, digital designers, ecologists and geomorphologists to deliver flood risk management schemes, nature-based solutions, river restoration and natural flood management projects.
This varied and exciting role will involve project leadership, governance and technical accountability on a variety of appraisal, design and construction projects. You will work in a fast-paced environment, with a range of public, private and third sector clients including the Environment Agency, water companies, lead local flood authorities, rivers and wildlife trusts.

You will play a key role in the growth and development of our engineering capability. You will also contribute to business development activities in this sector across the wider JBA Group.
We are seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals with an interest in sustainability who can demonstrate effective communication and team working skills.
Candidates will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a civil, structural or geotechnical engineering subject and ideally be at or working towards a professional qualification and chartership.
Professional development is encouraged and will be fully supported with opportunities for progression into regional and national leadership roles.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
Duties will include:
Technical leadership of the design process to develop sustainable, resilient solutions, specifications and project deliverables that meet client needs.
Championing technical innovation to improve efficiency and quality of delivery, ensuring effective engagement and uptake of latest developments in digital design tools.
Team leadership, developing and mentoring junior members of staff.
Building positive relationships with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders.
End to end project management, including contracts, budgetary control, programmes, change and risk management.
Development and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors. Leading Safety in Design (CDM) and compliance with environmental legislation.
Leading and supporting winning tender opportunities.

The role will be in our modern and spacious Warrington, WA1 1RX office, which can be found on the second floor of the purpose-built Phoenix House office campus. As well as boasting secure onsite parking, access to EV charging points and bicycle storage, our Warrington office is also within walking distance of the amenities and leisure facilities of Warrington town centre. Excellent transport links to the nearby cities of Manchester and Liverpool provide easy access for commuters travelling by road or rail.
