We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Supervisor / Manager to oversee and coordinate civil engineering / bridge refurbishment projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of management practices within the civils/construction sector. This role involves supervising teams, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality on-site. The Supervisor will play a pivotal role in delivering successful project outcomes while fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Duties
Supervise daily operations of projects, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
Manage and coordinate teams of workers, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimise productivity and efficiency.
Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to senior management effectively.
Organise schedules, allocate resources, and oversee the utilisation of equipment and materials.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Resolve on-site issues promptly to minimise delays and maintain project quality.
Liaise with clients, bridge engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
Maintain organisational records, including timesheets, procurement documentation, and progress reports.
Provide mentorship and training to team members to enhance skills and performance.
Qualifications
Proven experience in supervising civil engineering projects or similar management roles within the construction industry.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Effective communication skills in both verbal and written format.
Proficiency in administrative tasks such as report writing, scheduling, and documentation management.
Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of health & safety regulations pertinent to civil construction sites.
Organisational skills complemented by good phone etiquette and professional demeanour are essential for stakeholder engagement.
