Lester Cladding North West is looking to hire an experienced Senior Draughtsperson / Design Manager to join our team.
Facades & SFS Cladding Designer / Draughtsperson Requirements
Ideally,
5 years' AutoCAD experience
within thecladding and facades
industry.Revit experience
is an advantage. Excellentattention to detail
and technical accuracy. Strong communication skills with the ability tobuild effective relationships
across design, site, and client teams. Proven experience withfacade and building envelope systems
, includingrainscreen, aluminium cladding
, andSFS infill wall systems and cavity fire barriers
. Knowledge ofCWCT standards
,fire compliance
, andthermal performance requirements
.Roles & Responsibilities
Design and detail
bespoke facade and SFS solutions
, managing projects fromconcept through to completion
. Prepare detaileddesign drawings
,GA layouts
,sections
, andconnection details
. Issue drawings forclient approval
and producefull manufacturing and fabrication packages
. Undertake initialstructural interface checks
, includingSFS load paths, bracket layouts, and fixing details
. Producefabrication schedules
and coordinate with production teams to ensure accuracy and buildability. Review and cross-check design specifications against project quotations and client/architect requirements -- includingmaterials, finishes, fire ratings
, andthermal performance
. Liaise withsite teams, supervisors, and installers
regarding design clarifications and update drawings as required. Managedocument control
-- uploading and downloading drawings and information via client portals, maintaining revision history. Produce and issuedesign calculations
, fixing schedules, and relevant supporting documentation.Progression of the Role & Additional Responsibilities
Attend
design coordination meetings
(on-site or via Teams) to present and review technical proposals. Liaise directly withclients, architects, and engineers
as part of the collaborative design process. Review and interpretarchitectural and structural drawings
, raising RFIs and design queries where required. Conductsite surveys and measurements
to verify as-built conditions and ensure design accuracy. Liaise withsystem manufacturers and suppliers
to ensure design compliance, material procurement, and technical approvals.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 45,000.00-65,000.00 per year
