DWF Claims is an international organisation providing commercial lines claims management services. We specialise in the proactive resolution of defendant insurance claims, and we currently seek a Claims Handler to provide a professional, efficient and proactive claims handling role to our Clients, whilst reflecting our brand values.

The Role:

We are looking to hire an individual to join our highly successful Liability claims team in Leeds who deal with a diverse and complex range of claims, varying from Motorsport, Food Retail and Care Homes, through to Woodland, Contamination and many other non-traditional underwriting risks.

The role is challenging but we will give you the autonomy to deal with your own caseload from cradle to grave, with a wide variety of claims.

Naturally, you will already be experienced within the Liability claims arena with the skills to identify and evaluate evidence. You will also have an excellent ability to identify suspicious information and apply correct procedures to avoid fraudulent claims. You will understand that quality not quantity is paramount when dealing with complex EL and PL issues, and have the ability to carry out in depth, desk based investigations on each case.

A proactive attitude to claim settlement, with excellent telephone communication skills would be second nature to you, as will possessing the interpersonal skills and drive to thrive as a highly valued member of our team.. The primary role will be to provide a professional service in all aspects of claims handling, however specifically, the role involves:

  • Dealing with EL/PL claims to an incurred reserve of approximately \xc2\xa3500k on a retained basis;
  • Dealing with EL/PL claims to an incurred reserve of approximately \xc2\xa3100,000 on a DA basis;
  • Dealing with unusual underwriting risks, for example Motorsport, where detailed desktop investigations are required;
  • The ability to undertake claims review meetings;
The Candidate:
  • EL/PL or relevant legal/insurance background with the ability to conduct detailed desk based investigations;
  • Able to demonstrate and apply a thorough knowledge of current case law, statute and other legal liabilities;
  • The ability to hit the ground running;
  • Experience of Local Authority claims would be advantageous.
