Are you a legal professional with a passion for property law and litigation? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading property management firm and play a key role in supporting risk and compliance across a diverse real estate portfolio.
The organisation manages a wide range of properties - from commercial offices and shopping centres to large-scale residential developments - through one of the UK's largest block management operations.
They are now looking for a Claims & Litigation Officer to join their in-house Professional Services Division - a small, specialist legal team that supports the wider business on claims, complaints, and compliance matters.
What you'll be doing:
Investigating and managing a range of claims including Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, and County Court claims
Drafting responses, letters, and legal defences under the guidance of the Specialist Caseworker
Conducting legal research and preparing clear, concise reports
Supporting internal training on relevant legal risks and claims processes
Advising on leasehold property law and contributing to internal guidance materials
Maintaining accurate case files using the Case Management System
Assisting senior team members and supporting the department's day-to-day operations
What we're looking for:
Essential:
Legal education to degree level (or equivalent)
Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role
Strong understanding of leasehold property law and the ability to interpret lease clauses
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Case Management Systems
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
Proven ability to manage deadlines and handle a varied workload
Desirable:
Completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC)
Knowledge of long leasehold property management and related ownership structures
Experience producing professional reports and internal feedback
