Job Description

The NHS Resolution Claims Management function has embarked on the next phase of transformation and expansion with a vision to deliver a single, integrated claims function, with a supportive organisational structure that avoids duplication of effort and allows teams to develop their skills.


The claims teams manage claims emanating from former PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, which transferred to the Secretary of State. The claims teams work in an interesting and dynamic climate, all contributing to a continually improving claims service.

The opportunity




We are recruiting for

Claims Managers

with clinical negligence claims handling experience to join us and support our main aim by proactively managing claims from commencement to conclusion on behalf of Members and Beneficiaries of the indemnity schemes that we are responsible for as an NHS arm's length body.

What you'll be doing




As well as managing your own portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conducting the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion you will be considering the issues of Breach of Duty, Causation, quantification and cost control. You will provide a professional service to Members, Beneficiaries, Claimants, Defence and Claimant Solicitors and all other interested parties.

What we're looking for




To be considered for this opportunity you must have both technical knowledge and experience of claims management in

clinical negligence

or

personal injury

. As well as demonstrating the following:

Evidence of successfully managing a large caseload within strict time limits and conflicting priorities. An understanding of current law and relevant statutes The ability to draft documents and complex correspondence concisely and professionally (particularly in legal areas). Ability to work as a team member and also collaboratively with other teams. Exceptional customer focus and awareness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to focus on continuous service improvement and innovation.
