If you do, then you\xe2\x80\x99ll want to know that Unilever\xe2\x80\x99s Global Homecare Category is recruiting for its Laundry Liquids Design team at Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting team and develop your skills and career working on some of the world\xe2\x80\x99s biggest laundry brands such as Persil, Surf and Omo. Understanding and meeting the needs of our consumers is at the heart of laundry product development. This role will play an important part in understanding how to formulate our laundry liquid products to perform in globally relevant wash conditions, and in developing new protocols, measures and digital tools to help us create the right innovations for the future. Effective claims and creative benefit demonstrations tell our consumers what to expect from our products and play an important part in the consumer experience. The holder of this role will help to shape, define and support claims and product communication for our global brands. You will work in a multi-disciplinary business environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical insights and data to support our Global Innovation Portfolio. You will also act as the claims lead on projects, identifying the needs and owning the whole claims process. JOB PURPOSE You will join the claims workstream in Global Research & Development team and work closely with Global and Cluster formulation, regulatory, legal, marketing, CMI and CTI teams on storytelling of our products. Drive claims strategy via claims workshops and claims support testing for our big brands. Create claims to identify best ways to promote our advanced product technologies and enhance product superiority. Lead the internal or external claim support work and the external endorsements for the completion of claims sign-off process. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead the transformation of claims co-generation process with within innovation project teams, being responsible for the design, agreement, and implementation of claims support plans.
  • To lead the claims sign off for Global projects in line with cluster requirements via partnering with marketing, legal and regulatory teams.
  • To employ a sound understanding of the category, brands, competitive environment and technology and act as a core member of Project Teams, partnering with CMI, formulation, marketing, Supply Chain and Customer Development teams to identify insights that will drive new product & pack opportunities for new projects, based on analysis of trends, consumer needs, new technology impact on consumers, sensory data & strategic understanding projects.
  • To support Activities for Competitive Growth: Be ahead of competitor moves via tracking competitor launch/ relaunch/ activities closely, share them within wider team and generate discussion platforms for action planning.
  • To analyse and interpret technical data and convert into compelling claims & communications and provide clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • To build the capability beyond the existing internal & external network via new links.
  • To tailor new methods and protocols for claim support
  • To support digitalization: Drive the digital R&D agenda for claims sign off process.
  • To support Homecare Cleaner Future Programme via defining the cleaner future language for our products. Support trust & transparency agenda with formulation, marketing and CMI teams.
ALL ABOUT YOU KEY SKILLS
  • Proven ability to plan and manage own projects within a technical area
  • Ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders, including those from non-technical backgrounds
  • Strategic Thinking in order to build strong claim support plans
  • Ability to interpret complex data, from multiple sources, for concise, clear insights / conclusions and communication to a variety of audiences

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in Physical Sciences or Engineering (Textiles or Chemistry).
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Experience of FMCG or the detergents sector
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • The job includes both laboratory and office-based work (some of which may be agile)
