About the Role
To operate HGV Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles in the collection and delivery of packaged hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from various customer and supplier sites across the UK. The role ensures that all transport activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with ADR regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport packaged hazardous and non-hazardous waste from various customer and supplier locations across the UK, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant transport regulations, ADR requirements, industry standards, and company policies, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental responsibility.
Accurately maintain detailed records and documentation, including waste transfer notes, to ensure accountability and regulatory traceability.
Collaborate effectively with the wider transport team to coordinate and meet delivery schedules, optimising routes and vehicle usage for operational efficiency.
Strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring the correct and safe operation of all vehicles, equipment, and PPE at all times.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly in line with company defect reporting procedures.
Liaise with site personnel and customers to ensure smooth handovers and resolution of any access or delivery issues.
Ensure correct use and maintenance of any equipment, such as pumps, hoses, or spill kits, where required for waste handling.
Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring proper securing of loads and use of PPE where required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Licenses: Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 or HGV Class 2 license, along with CPC and ADR certifications.
Certifications: Possession of a valid Digital Tachograph (Digi Tacho) card is required.
Experience: Previous experience is preferred; however, newly qualified drivers are also encouraged to apply.
