Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled class 1 driver to transport freight between hubs and depots. These drivers are responsible for the safe and secure delivery of goods, adhering to regulations like tachograph and driver's hours. They also conduct vehicle checks and maintain documentation.

Duties

Safely drive and operate flatbed lorries for the delivery of goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads on flatbed vehicles. Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and any incidents encountered during transport. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to transportation and logistics.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating flatbed lorries. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members professionally.
