The successful applicant will report to the transport manager, aspects of the job role are listed below.


Loading and unloading various plant and machinery as well as a variety of static loads and cargo Ensuring all goods are positioned and secured safely Driving and navigating throughout the UK Complete daily vehicle checks and minor maintenance Comply with HGV driving rules and regulations Use a tablet based system to log job completion Ensuring your assigned vehicle is kept in good condition

Schedule:


Monday to Friday along with nights out and Saturday working where required

Van der Vlist UK has been operating as a freight forwarding company for almost 25 years, specialising in abnormal loads movements and heavy lift projects within the UK and European markets.


We are now beginning a new chapter with the purchase of our First UK registered truck and trailer.




We are looking for an experienced, motivated and flexible class 1 driver to join our team based out of our location in Hull working throughout the UK.


The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with STGO & abnormal loads as well as experience of loading and transporting plant and machinery.


The starting combination is a brand new DAF XG530 FTG 6 x 2 coupled with a 3 axle plant trailer. There will also be a requirement to drop and swap our Dutch semi low loaders and low beds within the UK ports for import / export, therefore a good technical knowledge and practical approach to trailer set up is required.
