you will be pivotal in our mission to recycle electrical wastes regularly, reliably and responsibly. You will use your knowledge and experience of driving HGVs to load, transport and unload Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) from UK businesses in a friendly and safe manner.
Specific jobs tasks and activities
Adhere to safety standards and regulations concerning the transport of WEEE.
Adhere to EU Regulation regarding driving time, Breaks and rest in accordance with tachograph regulation.
Perform thorough daily walk round vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance, including checking fluid levels and tyres.
Ensure the accurate completion of electronic and/or manual paperwork, including hazardous waste consignment notes and digital signatures.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards by loading and unloading WEEE in secure and compliant manner.
Provide an excellent level of service when collecting WEEE, answering any questions that arise from customers.
Inform the Transport Manager of any site problems or complaints.
Able to work weekend and Bank Holidays.
Overnight stop outs may be required.
You may be asked to drive smaller vehicles and vans.
Other duties as necessary to help the business as required by the Transport Manager.
Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
Class 1 driving licence, or equipment, that allows you to drive category C and C+E vehicles.
Must be comfortable with heavy lifting.
Working knowledge of tachograph regulations.
1-2 years of relevant experience of working within a haulage or transportation environment.
An in-date CPC card.
Desired
Experience of working within the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment industry.
Please note that occasional driving of a Class 2 vehicle will be required as part of this role.
