Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Class 1 HGV Shunter Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in this role and will be responsible for carrying out the day to day moving and parking of trailers in the Yard and main trailer park. As a Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will play a crucial role within the team ensuring a seamless transaction between the warehouse and transport department.

Duties:

Loading, shunting and parking trailer assets whilst maintaining communication with the transport office Liaising with warehouse and transport teams to ensure that trailers are positioned correctly for a streamlined loading process Accurately completing vehicle and trailer checks Adhere to health and safety protocols, traffic laws and regulations while driving Communicate effectively with team members
Qualifications

Must hold a HGV class 1 (C+E) licence with no more than 6 penalty points Have a valid 35 hour CPC training licence and Digi card 2 years experience as a Class 1 Shunter Driver or in a similar role is preferred
Additional Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and safety protocols Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills
The role will be Monday to Friday working 9 hours shifts with the potential for overtime. Overtime will be payable at an additional rate of 2.50 per hour worked in excess of 45 hours per week.

It is a physically demanding role and will use a cab to shunt rather than a tug.
