The Person



We are seeking a candidate who holds a current C2 Driving Licence (Category C) and up to date CPC training, for our site in Pucklechurch, Bristol.

The individual will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills including both face to face and written.

The individual needs to be a good time keeper who is diligent and highly focused on customer service.

The Role



Your role will be based primarily on multi-drop deliveries of fresh products to a range of regular customers within an allocated timeframe.

Working within a team to ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and delivered efficiently at the customers' premises.

Accurate checking of products delivered to customers premises.

Processing customer returns.

Lifting / moving pallets using manual pump truck

Wearing correct PPE including, clothing, gloves and shoes.

Complying with food and hygiene requirements and HACCP principles at all times.

Operating within the Company health and safety standards at all times and ensuring that vehicles are kept clean and tidy at all times.

Reporting any hazards or equipment problems immediately to the Transport Manager and supporting resolution as appropriate.

Striving to assist delivery of the key performance targets for the Transport Department.

Ensure Good standards of General Working Practice and that daily Vehicle Inspection Checks and Run Schedules are completed at all times

Ensuring all Delivery Notes are signed and Returns Notes and Receipts are completed at all times.

In conjunction with the Transport Manager continuously review working methods and identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce labour costs and waste whilst maintaining quality and technical standards.

Contribute to Departmental and Site improvement projects as required.

Communicate effectively within the Transport Department and be aware of business, departmental and team issues to help maintain an engaged and motivated workforce.

Complete required Training (CPC) and Development initiatives.

Focus on performance to support development and achievement of KPIs.

Maintain and apply knowledge of Warehousing principles through all areas of the Transport Department, including load checking and damaged products.

Complete cleaning inspections and be diligent with regards to monitoring vehicle fridge temperatures.

Act as a role model and demonstrate Core company values, behaviours and high-performance standards at all times.

Take personal responsibility for own development and ensure knowledge and understanding of best practice and factors affecting business performance is kept up to date.

Be flexible and assist the Transport Manager and Warehouse Manager by supporting warehouse departments as required.

Requirements



Knowledge and understanding of supply chain - including requirements and expectations from loading through to delivery to the end customer.

Ability to prioritise workload effectively.

Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.

Experience of working within a transport environment.

Knowledge and understanding of the food industry.

Working hours



Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week. Start time between 5am and 6am, working on average 9.5 hours per day (excluding break)

37,988pa
