We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our customers receive their deliveries on time. This position requires proficiency in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and an understanding of delivery logistics. Experience in driving Heavy Plant such as Excavators and Dumpers is advantageous but not essential.
There are times where the truck would not be required for deliveries/collections, on these days the individual would be required to assist in yard duties such as pressure washing the plant and equipment.
*PLEASE NOTE: Our sites include long haul drives to locations such as Lincolnshire and Wales. The ideal candidate will have flexible working hours in order to arrive on new sites for a reasonable time. There may be instances where you need to stay overnight, which will be in a hotel arranged and paid for by the company.
Duties
Operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently to transport goods such as Plant & Machinery to designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for safe transport.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Assist with yard duties when there are no bookings for the wagon such as pressure washing equipment.
Qualifications
Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving large vehicles.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items and securing loads.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
A commitment to maintaining a clean driving record.
Hi-Ab experience is advantageous but not essential, training can be arranged for the right candidate.
Experience in driving Heavy Plant such as Excavators and Dumpers is advantageous but not essential.
