Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Lorry Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, and the ability to communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients. Experience with roll on and roll off vehicles and scrap metal is preferred, as well as a solid background in commercial driving.

Responsibilities

Safely operate lorries to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel regarding loading and unloading procedures. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all trips. Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Assist in loading and unloading cargo as required, utilising appropriate equipment when necessary. Perform basic mechanical checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly. Collaborate with team members to optimise delivery routes and schedules.

Experience

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with colleagues and clients. A valid commercial driving licence is required, along with a clean driving record.
The working hours are 0600-1600hrs Monday to Friday. Overtime and Saturdays also available at a higher rate.
