Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our long established family owned business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting steel products safely and efficiently.
This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage various driving tasks, including flatbed deliveries.
The roll will require 2/3 nights out, Mon-Fri. To undertake deliveries Nationwide to include Scotland, Wales, Devon etc. (No London)
Expected weekly hrs 55-65 hrs.
13.75 per hr Mon-Fri
30 per hr (SAT) Optional
Responsibilities
Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately for transport, especially when dealing with flatbed deliveries. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while on the road and at delivery sites.
Requirements
Valid commercial driving licence Class 2 Experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred. Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is an advantage. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service at all times.
