An experienced HGV/LGV Driver is required in a busy and prestigious Building & Roofing Merchants based in Wimbledon.

ABOUT US:

The company has 3 divisions - Roofing, Scaffolding and a Roofing & Building Merchant. We aim to put as much back into our community as we can, raising money for local charities and causes throughout the year, whilst providing the highest quality service possible. We supply materials to both trade and public ranging from general building supplies to specialist roofing materials.

THE ROLE:

We require a Class 2 (Category C) HGV Delivery Driver to add to the existing team, to help drive the Merchants forward to meeting its potential.

-The role includes collecting materials up from suppliers as well as delivering them to our premises, our own worksites and our customer's work sites.

- The successful candidate will be expected to plan the most efficient routes between deliveries alongside the Shop Team and self/assisted loading of deliveries.

- Will include loading and unloading the vehicle - both at our premises and potentially at the delivery site.

- The role includes manual handling / heavy lifting

- Includes driving vehicles up to and including a 26tonne Class 2 HGV, as well as potentially other smaller delivery vehicles and vans

- Includes use of a HIAB Crane.

- Ad Hoc duties as necessary.

- The standard working hours (46.5 per week):

- Monday - Thursday 06.30 - 17.00

- Friday: 06.30 - 16.00

- Further overtime may be available.

- The wage range is 17.00 - 18.20 per hour depending on experience.

- Holiday is 28 days p/a including bank holidays.

THE CANDIDATE:

- MUST have a full, clean and valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence

-MUST have logged the required Driver CPC Training hours

- Having a HIAB/Crane licence will be beneficial to the role, but not essential as we will put thecandidate on a day-course if necessary. As the licence will then be owned by the candidate, this will be at the candidate's expense.

- Any forklift, health and safety training, CSCS card, first aid or fire marshal training is a bonus (but again not essential), as are any other relevant construction qualifications.

- The successful candidate should have experience in delivery driving within the construction industry.

- Due to high volumes of traffic, the candidate must be within an easy commute ( 1> Hour) of our premises.

- MUST provide two working references.
