Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable HGV Class 2 driver with Hiab ticket who can also carry out yard work to join our existing team within thh scaffolding yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving our 26t flatbed hiab truck along with maintaining the yard area, ensuring that materials are handled efficiently and safely. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various equipment, including telehandlers. The HGV Driver/Yard Worker will play a crucial part in supporting the daily scaffolding operations and contributing to an organised and safe working environment as part of a small dedicated team.

Duties

Ability to safely operate hiab crane truck for loading and loading on sites. Operate telehandlers for moving material around the yard, loading and unloading materials from flat bed vehicles. Assist with ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management. Perform heavy lifting of materials as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly. Work as part of a small team. Conduct inspections and servicing of scaffolding equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Requirements

Must have Class 2 licence and up to date drivers CPC. Clean drivers licence. Previous experience in a driving/ scaffolding yard environment is preferred. Must be physically fit and happy to work outside given the nature of the work required to be carried out. Proficiency in operating telehandlers; relevant certifications are advantageous although full training will be provided for the successful candidate on completion of a probation period. Ability to perform materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 25 kg). Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. A proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork is essential.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Previous customer experience working in a service yard environment. Telehandler Licence (Preferable but not essential as full training will be provided). Basic numeracy skills. Hands-on approach. Good communication skills - verbal and written. A positive can-do attitude. Ability to work under pressure. Driving Licence (HGV Class 2 as a minimum).
