Role Outline:
The Class 2 Driver/ Loader will take responsibility for loading, transporting and unloading goods in a safe and timely manner. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physical tasks.
Working Hours:
Working hours: 22:00pm to 06:00am, Sunday to Thursday (37.5 hours per week).
Hourly Rate:
An hourly rate of 18.80 per hour.
This hourly rate includes the daily shift premium of 12.00 (which is paid after completion of 7.5 hours work on this shift). This hourly rate also includes discretionary bonuses.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading (60% of the role):
Assist the Logistics team with loading and unloading goods on to the delivery vehicles
Ensure that all items are securely packed and protected during transit
Verify the accuracy of orders being loaded and unloaded
Driving and Delivery (40% of the role):
Move vehicles around site
Maintain a tidy lorry park
Drive in a safe manner within current speed limits (allowing for local conditions)
Transport goods to various locations as per the delivery schedule
Undertake delivery runs (in the event of sickness and/ or emergency)
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving, including complying with current EU and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation
Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, including checking fluid levels
Swap demount boxes to correct chassis ready for the next shift and/ or driver
Ensure that a professional image is portrayed at all times
Person Specification:
Valid UK Driving licence (with no more than three points) (essential)
Class 2 HGV licence (essential)
Category C licence (essential)
A minimum of one years' experience of driving a Category C vehicle (essential)
Previous experience of driving a Class 2 HGV vehicle (essential)
Previous experience of undertaking delivery drops (essential)
Valid Tacograph card
Valid Driver CPC (present and up to date)
Excellent attention to detail
