We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 2 / HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safe and efficient transportation of goods to and from various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Our Delivery Drivers represent our company and are the face of the business and must be professional and courteous at all times, driving with care and attention to UK driving regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse / Picking:

Pick goods to support warehouse team. Ensure frozen and fresh items are added to complete orders. Complete order picking and check your deliveries for the day. Assist warehouse team with loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.

Loading & vehicle checks:-

Load vehicle in the most efficient way according to delivery route. Ensure goods are securely loaded to avoid damage. Perform daily vehicle inspection (Add Blue /Coolant, fuel, tyres)

Delivery:-

Drive a Class 2 (Category C) HGV vehicle in a safe and compliant manner. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly. Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by your supervisor. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, invoices, and other relevant documentation. Deliver goods to designated delivery area / area agreed with customer. Review delivered goods with customer and obtain a signed delivery note. Notify Head Office of any discrepancies immediately and sign changes on Delivery Note. Keep sales team updated of any delays to delivery time slot. Return all paperwork from deliveries to Head Office. Return all returned or damaged goods to Head Office. Communicate effectively with customers and team members. Adhere to all driving regulations, Working Time Directive, and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications

Valid Class 2 / Category C HGV Licence. Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Minimum 2 years of Class 2 driving experience. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no previous convictions. Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport legislation. Ability to drive and operate a lorry safely in various weather conditions. Good physical health and ability to complete heavy lifting tasks and loading/unloading of cargo. Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices. Previous experience in a warehouse environment will be beneficial.
