Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 2 Lorry Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. Experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operate a lorry safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. Transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner while maintaining accurate delivery records. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times. Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.

Skills

Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within the logistics industry. Strong knowledge of flatbed driving techniques and safety protocols. Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record. Excellent navigational skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology effectively. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills. Physical stamina for loading and unloading goods, as well as long hours on the road.
