Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods from Newbury to Birmingham and back, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety. The position involves driving HGV Class 2 lorries and requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism. At our Newbury depot vehicles are unloaded and reloaded on to our day fleet so candidates will need to be fit as there is physical work involved.

Responsibilities

Safely operate vehicles between our depots in Newbury and Birmingham Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly Load and secure cargo, ensuring all items are properly fastened and compliant with safety regulations Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations during operations Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen issues Assist with loading and unloading cargo at our Newbury depot

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver Class 2 minimum Demonstrable knowledge of vehicle operation and safety procedures Valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles - Class 2 Strong understanding of driving regulations and compliance standards within the UK transport industry Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently on routes Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing cargo on flatbeds

Pay: 37,812.00 per year
