Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Shunter for night shifts to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the yard, ensuring that all operations run smoothly during the night. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of logistics and delivery operations, contributing to our commitment to excellence in service.

Duties

Safely manoeuvre flatbed lorries within the yard, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols. Conduct pre-shift inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and fit for operation. Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Collaborate with team members to coordinate vehicle movements and deliveries effectively. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any issues or incidents promptly to management, contributing to continuous improvement in operations.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly advantageous. Valid Class 2 driving licence with a clean driving record. Experience with flatbed lorries is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of their specific handling requirements. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts. A commitment to safety and best practices in commercial driving is essential.
