We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Tipper Driver to join our growing team. This role combines tipper driving with hands-on groundworks and surfacing duties, supporting the delivery of high-quality construction, driveway, and surfacing projects. You'll be driving an 18-tonne tipper and contributing to various manual tasks, ensuring both efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive an 18-tonne tipper lorry to transport materials to and from site.
Carry out loading and unloading of aggregates, soil, and waste materials.
Assist with groundworks tasks, including excavation, site preparation, tarmac, and foundations.
Support surfacing activities such as asphalt laying, resin bound installation, and other surfacing types.
Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operated in compliance with health and safety standards.
Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
Work as part of a team on both residential and commercial projects.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members.
Requirements:
Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV license with experience driving an 18-tonne tipper.
Valid CPC and digital tachograph card.
Experience with groundworks, surfacing, or similar construction trades.
Good physical fitness and willingness to perform manual work in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety practices.
CSCS card (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in surfacing (e.g., tarmac, resin bound, block paving).
Knowledge of basic site layout and preparation.
Forklift or plant operator tickets (desirable but not essential).
