Reporting into the APCr Manager you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by providing the safe and efficient collection of APCR (Air Pollution Control Residue) from Energy /Waste sites across the UK and delivery to OCO Technology facilities. You'll play a key role in providing a high-quality, reliable service while adhering to all health, safety, and site regulations. What will you do

Based at our Manchester depot, you will drive an ash tanker from Energy / Waste facilities to O.C.O Technology's treatment plants in Wretham, Leeds and Avonmouth, where the Air Pollution Control residue (APCr) is turned into aggregate, and periodically to our landfill in Bishop's Cleeve, near Cheltenham. Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects or damage, and follow escalation procedures in line with legal and company requirements. Ensure full compliance with Transport Working Time Directive (WTD), tachograph legislation, and all Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments. Adhere to all health & safety and company policies. Accurately complete and submit all required documentation, including timesheets, defect reports, and incident/near-miss logs, in a timely manner. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform weekly checks such as wheel nut torque inspections. Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders at all times. Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including availability for overtime and overnight stays in safe, secure parking locations when required. Undertake additional duties or projects as assigned by management, in line with skills and capabilities.

About You

Valid Class 1 (category C+E) licence Driver Qualification Card (DQC) Up-to-date Driver's Digi Card Experience of operating Articulated Bulk Powder tankers would be preferred, although training can be provided. long-distance driving and regular overnight stays away from home. Strong knowledge of analogue and digital tachographs, current driving and working time regulations, and the Highway Code. Basic understanding of relevant health & safety and, ideally, waste legislation. Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and a professional, positive attitude. Able to interpret maps and directions confidently and work independently or as part of a team. Demonstrates behaviours aligned with company values, showing flexibility and a willingness to undertake additional tasks, hours, and training as required. Committed to ongoing compliance with all mandatory company, FORS, and health & safety training requirements.

The driver seats within our vehicles have a manufacturers' guaranteed load-bearing weight limit of 140kg (22 stone) and in order to protect our drivers' safety when driving our vehicles, we operate a strict weight limit in these roles of 140kg. As part of our application process, you will be required to declare that you do not weigh in excess of this.
