Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children aged 7 years.
Parent Communication: Develop strong, trusting relationships with parents, maintaining clear, open, and regular communication about children's progress, well-being, and development through written reports and face-to-face meetings.
Creative Curriculum Development: Design and implement creative, stimulating, and flexible learning activities that inspire curiosity, exploration, and independent learning.
Observation and Assessment: Regularly observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying next steps to inform planning.
Classroom Management: Maintain a nurturing, safe, and well-organised classroom that encourages positive behaviour, independence, and collaboration.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning.
Time Management: Prioritise tasks effectively and manage time well to meet deadlines in a busy and fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality teaching.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure you stay at the forefront of Early Years education and pedagogical practices.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent early years qualification (e.g., EYTS, Level 3 in Childcare and Education, or relevant degree).
Strong experience working with children aged 6-7 years old, ideally within an independent school or similar setting.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Creative, innovative, and forward-thinking approach to teaching and curriculum design.
Strong time-management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment.
A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young children.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of education and care.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
First Aid qualification or willingness to complete.
Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and best practices.
