AMBLECOTE PRIMARY SCHOOL

CLEANER VACANCY

We are looking to appoint a committed, motivated, reliable cleaner, from November 2025, to join our existing team of cleaners, to work either mornings or afternoons, 12.5 hours per week during term time in our friendly school. The area to be cleaned is our Early Years area (subject to change)
This is a 52-week contract.

Term time hours of work 06:00 - 08:30 (or 15:30 - 18:00) Monday to Friday - during holidays the candidate must be flexible with these hours to suit the cleaning team and site manager.

Salary - Grade 1 scale point 2 (12.65 ph) Holidays are 26 days plus public holidays, rising to 31 plus BH after 5 years' service.

Qualifications:

Willing to undergo appropriate training.

Person Specification:

Previous experience of cleaning in a professional/work environment is desirable.

Experience of using vacuuming and buffing equipment is preferred but training will be given.

Practical skills:

Ability to understand and comply with work instructions (written and verbal)

Be aware of and apply the school's health and safety practices and procedures

Ability to follow manufacturer's instructions with regards to cleaning chemical usage

Methodical approach to cleaning.

Personal qualities and attributes:

Flexible.

Capable and willing to work on own initiate and as part of a team

Positive attitude to security, safety and confidentiality.
Commitment to provide a clean, sanitised and tidy environment for our children.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
