Job Description

We're looking for a cleaner to join our friendly team here at The Firs. The ideal person will have a good work ethic and have practical skills.

Job purpose:

To maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the School on a daily basis.

Hours of work:

15 hrs a week - 4pm to 7pm during the school term. 1.5hrs a day during school holidays (to work in our day nursery). An additional 30 hours to be worked during school holidays.

INSET days and occasional marketing or training periods as required by the Directors.

Salary and benefits:

In addition to the pay the school will contribute at least 1% gross pay or the mandatory requirement for auto-enrolment (if applicable) towards a pension.

Qualifications:

None specific, however experience of cleaning work is desirable as is ability to lead a team.

Duties:

To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained in a designated area on a daily basis. To ensure that cleaning schedules, standards and procedures are adhered to. To use cleaning tools and equipment appropriately, and to report any faults to the Line Manager. To use cleaning materials appropriately and economically, and to inform the Line Manager when stocks are low. To ensure that COSHH regulations are adhered to. To ensure effective recycling of waste. To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others. To secure areas according to school policy, be aware of security risks, reporting to Line manager as appropriate.
