To ensure that all areas of the school are cleaned and maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation, providing a safe and pleasant environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas daily.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
Dust and wipe desks, tables, chairs, and other surfaces.
Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.
Refill soap, paper towels, and toilet paper dispensers.
Clean internal glass, doors, and windows as needed.
Maintain cleaning equipment and materials, ensuring safe and proper use.
Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to the Site Manager.
Follow all health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
Carry out deep cleaning tasks during school holidays as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
Previous experience in cleaning (school or similar environment preferred).
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
Awareness of health and safety, including safe use of cleaning materials (COSHH).
Desirable:
Experience working in a school or childcare setting.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
First aid or health and safety training.
Additional Information
This role requires an
enhanced DBS check
and adherence to the school's safeguarding policies.
Uniform, cleaning materials, and equipment will be provided.
Flexibility may be required during school holidays for deep cleaning or special events.
