Queen Elizabeth's Academy are looking for a looking for Cleaners to join our highly focused and dedicated staff. The cleaner role will undertake general cleaning duties to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for teaching and other academy activities.
Positions available will be working 10 hours per week over 5 days, mornings (6am to 8am) or afternoons (3pm to 5pm), term time only. There is also the option to work up to an additional 4 weeks during school holidays.
This post would suit a new entrant to the profession with relatable experience or an experienced cleaner.
The successful candidate will: Carry out cleaning tasks set out in the academy's cleaning schedule.
Use all cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with any instructions and specifications provided.
Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards.
Observe health and safety and security requirements.
Complete any appropriate records or documentation required by the Academy.
Maintain good working relationships with other academy staff and to co-operate with reasonable changes to daily work routines to assist the smooth operation of the academy.
Ensure that work undertaken complies with stated requirements and undertake appropriate training, as required.
The ideal candidate will have: Some knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the operation of cleaning equipment and the dilution of cleaning materials.
Knowledge of COSHH and the safe use of chemicals.
Knowledge of cleaning best practises
Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties
Ability to work in an organised and methodical manner
Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise
