Job Summary

We are a warm, welcoming family of four based in M20 (Didsbury/South Manchester), looking for a dependable and experienced Cleaner & Home Helper. This role includes keeping our home clean and organised, and supporting with light childcare-related tasks when needed.

The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, enjoy being around children, and understand how to work in a busy household with care and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise all areas of the home, including kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and communal living spaces. Perform regular dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface cleaning to high standards. Organise and tidy spaces, such as children's rooms, play areas, cupboards, and storage. Assist with household routines such as laundry folding and occasional errands. Support with childcare-related tasks (e.g. tidying after play, helping supervise or entertain children briefly under guidance). Monitor and report when cleaning supplies need replenishment. Maintain a respectful and discreet presence in the home.

Requirements

Experience with children is essential - either professionally or through family/home-based settings. Previous cleaning or domestic work experience preferred. Honest, proactive, and able to work independently. Friendly, patient, and reliable - with strong communication skills. Ability to speak and understand English fluently. Must be able to drive and use their own vehicle. References required. A DBS check is highly desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
