Cleaner

Grierson House, the Crichton Estate

Responsible To:

Head of Property Services and Head Cleaner

Hours of Work:

12 Hours per week, Saturday - Sunday

Job Purpose:

To provide a high standard of cleaning within one or more buildings on the Crichton site and be flexible to provide holiday and sickness cover

Main Duties:

1. To carry out cleaning duties within various buildings to agreed standards and log equipment faults and report these to Head Cleaner.

2. To clean the inside of the buildings in terms of the Company's detailed specification, which also included cleaning hard surfaces, carpets, toilets, showers etc.

3. Comply with all Health and Safety requirements and, in particular to comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy

4. Respond to emergency cleaning as and when the Head Cleaner asks you to respond

5. Ensure that the security of all premises being worked in is maintained at all times

These tasks are not intended to be exhaustive but simply highlight a number of major tasks of the post. The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties which might reasonably be expected and which form part of the function of the post.

Person Specification

Understanding of the safety and environmental implications

Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and within defined deadlines

Excellent time-keeper and able to work on own initiative
