Overview of the role

The role of the Domestic Assistant is to undertake a range of cleaning duties to a high standard throughout the home.

Key duties

Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home, especially within the kitchen and storage areas Ensuring all work surfaces and floor areas are clean and managed Hoovering, washing, polishing etc.in all areas, including the residents' bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas Identifying future regular cleaning and maintenance needs Identifying future resources and equipment needed for the home Operating within all Company policies and procedures Demonstrating our values Getting to know the people we support and enabling them to live a safe, happy and fulfilling life through developing open, honest and considerate relationships

Where will you work?

Hurst House is a large, detached home in Swindon, two miles from the town centre. It supports up to 10 middle-aged and older men and women with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs. The residents enjoy a range of educational and leisure activities, including arts and crafts, music lessons and walks, as well as social events with a second Choice Care home close by. There is easy access to public transport, and the home has its own vehicle for local leisure, recreational and educational trips and activities in the community.
