About The Role:
Main Purpose:
To maintain the school premises to a high standard of cleanliness; required to clean all rooms, including classrooms, offices, toilets, cloakrooms, staircases, and all other areas in use.
This position is a term time post.
You will be required to participate in the annual deep clean of the school for 3 weeks during the summer holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the practical organisation of the day-to-day cleaning operation.
In consultation with the Soft Services Area Supervisor, to identify the number of cleaning staff required to maintain a clean environment.
To monitor stock of cleaning equipment and materials, to ensure orders can be placed on a timely basis.
Update Maximo daily for any Misuse.
Maintain a flexible daily cleaning schedule of all internal areas of the school.
Ensure that identified key areas of the school receive priority in the schedule.
Liaise with the Head Janitor and review the weekly school calendar to identify lets and school events.
Liaise with school representative to ensure client satisfaction.
Daily checks of all areas of the school to ensure they are cleaned to a satisfactory standard and daily cleaning logs are completed for each work section.
Clean allocated areas to a high standard - including but not limited to: -
+ Vacuuming
+ Scrubber Drying
+ Damp Wiping
+ Stair Cleaning
+ Toilet Cleaning Produce, on a monthly basis, official order forms for equipment, uniform and materials for authorisation by the Area Supervisor.
Produce a monthly report for the Area Supervisor.
Ensure that tools, equipment, and materials are available as and when required to ensure the effective delivery of the service.
Maintain a working knowledge of developments in cleaning equipment and materials and identify means by which the cleaning operation might be developed.
Conduct regular site audits to ensure that the specified standard of work is maintained.
Secure the building when there is no janitor present onsite.
Provide information to the Area Supervisor for the Training Log.
Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed, in accordance with company policies.
Responsible for the day-to-day personnel management of the cleaning staff, and consulting with the Area Supervisor on any necessary formal procedure, including:
+ Develop and carry out induction procedures with all new staff.
+ Identify formal and informal training needs for all cleaning staff.
+ Complete cleaning staff Return to Work Interviews and any other HR paperwork required.
+ Organise appropriate training for all cleaning staff.
+ Carry out Staff CPD and new starter training.
+ In conjunction with the Area Supervisor, interview and recruit sufficient cleaning staff to cover the weekly budgeted cleaning hours.
+ Maintain cleaning staff attendance logs and timesheets for submission to Head Office.
Undertake any additional cleaning duties as directed, by the Area Supervisor.
Skills & Knowledge:
Supervisory experience in a cleaning environment, preferably in a PPP environment.
BICSc certification, or equivalent to an appropriate level, desirable.
Experience of operating a management system i.e. ISO 9001:2000, 14001, 18001.
Excellent prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
A pro-active attitude.
Good IT/computer skills.
The ability to supervise operatives.
The ability to deliver in-house training.
Excellent communication skills including verbal and the written word.
The ability to form relationships with clients and to exceed customer expectation.
Approachable demeanour and a demonstrable commitment to team working.
A track record of delivering a similar role.
A commitment to continuing professional development in relation to themselves and their team members.
