About the Role

ESS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Cleaning Contract Manager

to lead cleaning operations at Goodenough College, London. This is a high-profile leadership role, responsible for ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, service, and compliance in line with client expectations and Compass Group procedures.


We're looking for a strong operator with proven people management skills, able to deliver consistently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality cleaning services to agreed SLAs and Compass standards Lead, motivate, and develop the cleaning team Manage labour, equipment, and resources within budget Oversee stock levels, consumables, suppliers, and contractors Uphold health & safety regulations (including COSHH) and Compass procedures Act on client and customer feedback promptly and professionally Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement Ensure team compliance with company updates and policies

Ideal Candidate

Proven experience in contract or facilities management Strong leadership and team management capability In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations Skilled communicator, both written and verbal Confident with budgets, numerical analysis, and IT/digital reporting tools
