Overview

To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the medical practice, ensuring that clinical and non-clinical areas are cleaned to infection control standards, creating a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 5:30pm-7:30pm (10 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Cleaning Consultation and treatment rooms Cleaning Waiting areas and reception Cleaning Staff offices and communal areas Cleaning Toilets and washrooms Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed in line with infection prevention and control procedures. Use appropriate cleaning products, equipment, and PPE as instructed. Empty bins and safely dispose of general and clinical waste, following practice protocols. Replenish supplies such as soap, hand towels, and toilet paper. Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the Practice Manager. Follow colour-coding and cross-contamination prevention procedures. Maintain confidentiality regarding patients, staff, and practice information. Undertake deep cleaning tasks as required (e.g., carpet cleaning, high-level dusting). Comply with Health & Safety regulations at all times, including safe storage of cleaning materials.

Experience

Previous experience in a cleaning role is advantageous but not essential. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members. A valid driving licence is preferred. Customer service experience is beneficial, as the role involves engaging with clients directly. A proactive approach to tasks and the ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
