Cleaning Operative
Job Description
We are hiring a reliable self-motivated full-time Cleaning Operative with at least 1 year of experience in the cleaning sector. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintain cleanliness ensuring that all areas are clean and presentable. A successful candidate will work closely with the Site Supervisor and Line Manager or with minimum supervision on own initiative. The shift runs from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute break. The candidate must successfully pass both a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) background check and an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. The hourly pay rate for this position is 13.00.
Responsibilities
Perform cleaning duties in designated areas, including corridors, toilets, kitchens, offices and workshop areas. Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately while adhering to health and safety regulations. Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any shortages or maintenance needs. Communicate effectively with team members to understand the cleaning requirements. There will be overtime cleaning duties as and when required. Follow cleaning instructions and procedures to ensure consistent quality of work.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills in English to interact with team members effectively. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A valid driving licence with own transport is necessary due to the location of the site and limited public transport services. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
