Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our team at Fairhill Shopping Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the Shopping Centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff alike. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and possess strong communication skills, the shifts will be on a weekly rota with the earliest shift at 7am.

This role is 16 hours per week although additional hours can be available on occasions if required.

Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including floors, surfaces, windows, and fixtures Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently and safely Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed Restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all assigned areas Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly Interact courteously with clients and staff, providing excellent customer service where required

Requirements

Previous experience in cleaning or similar roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Good customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for clients and visitors Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical fitness to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods
