to support operations on an active construction site. This role will primarily involve cleaning and maintaining
portacabins
, including site offices, welfare units, canteens, washrooms, and changing facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure these high-traffic areas remain hygienic, presentable, and compliant with site standards, playing a vital part in upholding welfare conditions for all site personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Clean Portacabins & Welfare Units:
Tidy and sanitise all internal areas of portacabins, including:
Offices
Rest areas
Drying rooms
Toilets and wash basins
Kitchens/canteens
Daily Maintenance:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Empty bins and dispose of waste according to site protocols.
Clean worktops, desks, and high-touch surfaces (e.g. door handles, switches).
Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, hand towels, and cleaning agents.
Deep Cleaning Tasks (as required):
Descaling sinks and toilets.
Spot cleaning of walls and internal panels.
Thorough disinfection of welfare areas following Health & Safety guidance.
General Duties:
Report any defects, hazards, or maintenance issues to site supervisors.
Handle cleaning products safely and use appropriate PPE at all times.
Maintain secure storage and inventory of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Adhere strictly to site safety procedures and protocols.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience cleaning on a
construction site
or in a
commercial/industrial setting
is desirable.
Basic understanding of COSHH and safe chemical handling (training can be provided).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and professional conduct in a site environment.
Must be reliable, punctual, and consistent in delivering high standards of cleanliness.
Additional Requirements:
Valid CSCS card (preferred but can be provided).
