The University Executive Office (UEO) is located in the Tower Building. The UEO comprises the Principal & Vice- Chancellor, University Secretary & Chief Operating Officer, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Provost, the Vice-Principals, and the Director of Organisational & Strategic Change. In addition, the Directorate senior team includes, the Principal\'s Chief of Staff & Director of UEO, Senior Executive Support Officer and the clerical and administrative team that provides support to the Principal & Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Provost, the Vice-Principals and the University Secretary & Chief Operating Officer.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Clerical Assistant within the University Executive Office. This is a permanent appointment.

The successful applicant will provide administrative assistance to the Office Manager & Senior Executive Assistant to the Principal & Vice-Chancellor. In addition, the post-holder will more generally operate as one of a team of clerical members of staff working in support of the Principal\'s Office and the Directorate as a whole.

Your priorities will include:

  • To provide assistance to the Office Manager & Senior Executive Assistant to the Principal & Vice-Chancellor (and others within the Team as required) in the execution of daily administrative tasks;
  • Meeting and greeting visitors to the office where required;
  • Arranging travel and accommodation for the Principal, and other members of the team, as appropriate;
  • Finalisation of paperwork to a high standard, including formatting papers, converting papers to PDF format and combining papers as required for electronic issue;
  • Keeping stock of office supplies (including stationery, photocopier supplies and tea/coffee) and ordering supplies as required;
Who we\'re looking for:
  • Excellent secretarial/administration skills and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and have a flexible approach;
  • High level of accuracy and ability to observe absolute confidentiality.
