The Opportunity
The role of the Client Business Executive (CBE) is to run several key customer accounts like its your own business delivering on customer success, growth and profitability. It is both a technical and a business role that engages with the C level of some of the leading service providers in the worlds most dynamic utilities market. It is a leadership role that shapes the direction of our company.
We have great customers that depend on us to provide essential services. As a B2B software and service provider bringing complex, mission critical systems to a few large-scale clients in the UK and across the globe, we will only fulfill our global aspirations if we have the most talented leadership working with these clients to secure their business through the delivery and support of great technology.
The Specifics

  • Become a trusted advisor with the C Level management in 4 to 6 utility supply companies to help them grow their business, meet their cost to serve objectives, continually innovate and have great customer satisfaction for their client base.
  • You will intimately need to understand the strategic and operations details of your customers and the industry and bring to bear Gentrack resources to help the customer meet associated business objectives.
  • You will be responsible for Gentracks profit and revenue growth for your accounts.
  • You will work closely with a Gentrack Customer Success Manager who will lead the technical delivery of your solutions to your customers.
  • You will report directly to the General Manager of the UK and be a part of the company quarterly business reviews and broader leadership.
  • The role will be to run several key customer accounts like it is your own business
and is a leadership role that will help shape the direction of our company * Ownership of the customer account profitability
  • Indirect leadership of bid teams and sales teams such as Gentracks professional services teams, solution architects, pre-sales and executive roles to an account plan.
  • Participate and contribute to internal improvement programs at Gentrack.
  • Structuring complex pricing, including value based pricing
  • Responsibility for licensing revenue, account profitability, Customer satisfaction scores and other applicable targets.
Enhance the positive reputation of Gentrack UK Ltd and Gentrack Group in the Utility Market. * Ensure customers are good references for Gentrack.
  • To abide to the Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company.
  • In addition to this you are required to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your Manager.
  • Customer profitability based on Gentracks P&L reporting
  • Licensing revenue and professional services margin
  • Professional services, Executive, Pre-sales, Commercial, Product R & D
  • Customers, prospects, partner organisations, industry associations
Some important characteristics we are looking for:
  • Passionate about accelerating the future of energy in UK
  • Strong background of Customer Success experience working with C level management to help them grow their business
  • You are a technical person who is in the details. You cannot succeed at this role if you to not understand technology and the industry from a business context. Generally, successful CBEs come from delivery, presales or development and migrate into the CBE position.
  • Utility industry experience with an established network in Energy or Water Retail or distribution.
  • A client centric understanding of CRM, digital, billing and debt.
  • Experience working for an enterprise software solutions vendor
  • Exposure to consulting and professional services sales and delivery
  • Above all else, you have a genuine passion for creating an environment where people can do their best.
  • You are a strategic thinker that strives to find solutions that serve both your customers and the company
  • You are good at working with people and selling value. However, this is not a sales role but it is much more of an end to end leadership role running a book of business
  • You are creative with new ideas finding ways to co-innovate with your and for customers.
  • You are a continuous learner, like a fast pace and lean into challenges.
  • You are highly collaborative.

  • TAS targeted account selling (not mandatory)
  • Negotiation tools and technique
