Job Overview


This is a key role within the Maron Systems product development team, working closely with our customers, users, product management, and development teams to determine requirements for enhancements to our existing products as well as the development of new products. You will be central to the on-going relationships with our major clients, will manage the requirements and feature design process and collaborate with the development team to produce innovative solutions that solve real market problems.

Key Responsibilities:



Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, the market and internal stakeholders. Leveraging a consultative approach with existing clients to determine customer expansion opportunities, ensuring that the Maron proposition is understood at all levels within a client organisation. Prepare high quality client proposals that can differentiate a Maron solution. Design and prepare solutions for delivery to maximise client and Maron value. For significant new projects, ensure Project Management disciplines applied. Ensure development and maintenance of software products and propositions fulfils company objectives for client relationship and profitability Ensure business risk is managed and minimised for new and ongoing business Supporting client projects throughout their lifecycle, including project scoping, assignment of resources and monitoring project progress. Have a sound knowledge of the full range of our Products & Services to be able to discuss/demonstrate the value proposition for each offering. Provide feedback from client discussions to influence strategic product roadmap Assist with reviewing and issuing changes and variations to contracts. Maintain oversight of customer support accounts to ensure customer expectations are met

Required Skills and Experience



At least 10 years experience of working with clients to develop opportunities within a complex software delivery environment. Experience of developing on-going client relationships to maintain the company's business and reputation with an existing client base. Ability and experience in developing effective client proposals Awareness of software development lifecycle and methodologies. Strong written and verbal communication skill, with the ability to communicate with customers using appropriate technical and business terminology Strong background working with domain specific IT software and standard office IT packages. (i.e. Microsoft Office) Ability and willingness to travel when required
Initially working as part of a team on a variety projects, giving an introduction to the breadth of our business and client base. In time, the candidate would work independently on small client projects until ultimately taking responsibility for certain client accounts. Whilst a background in the Oil & Gas or Energy industries is advantageous it is not critical as training in this area will be provided.

The candidate should have several years' experience working in the IT sector. Ideally this would have encompassed a variety of roles involved in software delivery - which may at one time have included any combination of technical work, testing, business analysis, training or delivery management. Whilst any combination of these skills is welcome, the candidate must be able to demonstrate recent experience of business development and client account management. Time will typically be split 50/50 office/home working, though this can be flexible when required.

Advantageous Skills



Domain knowledge of, or experience in, the oil and gas sector. Awareness and understanding of the principles of data security and associated industry standards e.g. ISO27001, SOC2 Experience of Microsoft ADO (Azure Dev Ops or similar Dev Ops tools) and are familiar with agile software development principles SQL database language experience
